Any courtyard, just like a garden room, should have a focal point.
Do It Yourself
See the short path leading to the fountain? We built that to get water from the downspout away from the house and down the main path. We have a gutter extension to the base of the fountain and a pond liner under the gravel. Always keep drainage in mind, especially in an entry courtyard.
Stretch your Dollars
We used Nandinas as a wall to enclose the courtyard instead of making a brick or stone wall.
