Design Ideas
Throughout planting beds, repeat individual plants, specific foliage, or flower colors to draw the eye comfortably through the garden. We have five “Sum and Substance” Hostas at different spots in our garden. Each time we’ve planted this Hosta in a large planting of “Variegated” Liriope.
Do It Yourself
“Sentimental Blue” Balloon Flower has the prettiest little cup-shaped flowers in late spring. We have ours in a fairly shady spot and they still flower well. You can deadhead them for more flowers, but we never do.
Stretch your Dollars
Don’t be shy about asking for a discount. Shelf-tired plants and open mulch or fertilizer bags can be bought cheap. If you don’t ask, someone else will.
