Design Ideas

We have a “no bare ground” concept in our garden. We’ve learned that using ground covers finishes the look and greatly cuts down on weeding.

Do It Yourself

“Vinca Minor” ground cover provides a wonderful backdrop for colorful Hostas. Hostas grow through Vinca, no problem.

Stretch your Dollars

Buy “Vinca Minor” in plugs, if you can. They are a lot easier to plant (smaller holes) and they grow incredibly fast.

Plant List

“Vinca Minor” with “Great Expectations” Hosta, “Bloodgood” Japanese Maple, “China Girl” Holly behind the birdfeeder, “Ramona” Clematis up the Elm tree, Bleeding Heart at the base of the chimney, and Impatiens in the deck planter boxes.
